Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has accused former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa of conspiring to topple his government. Imran said- Bajwa had imposed thieves on the country. But my dispute with him is personal. I will not take any action against Bajwa if he returns to power. Imran told these things to the representatives of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) at his Lahore home on Sunday.
During this, he told- The new Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has said that he will be fair. But holding elections within three months of the dissolution of the assembly will be the biggest test of his neutrality.
Corruption was not an issue for Bajwa
Imran said- I had told General Bajwa that if we catch 10-12 people who do the most corruption, then all the others will come on the right track. But I came to know later that corruption was not an issue for General Bajwa. I also briefed General Bajwa about PM Shehbaz Sharif's involvement in corruption cases worth Rs 16 billion.
The former army chief gave a clean chit to corrupt people
Imran had earlier said that the former army chief had given a clean chit to the gang of corrupt under 'National Reconciliation Ordinance-2'. Because of this, Shahbaz Sharif's son and fugitive Salman Shahbaz have also returned to the country. Salman Shahbaz was living in exile in London for the last four years. Imran said- Salman Shahbaz who was a fugitive in the Masood peon case. He has returned and is teaching us. At the same time, Nawaz Sharif is also planning to return to his homeland.
Nawaz Sharif also bought a car from Toshakhana
Imran said that if there had been corruption during his tenure, the opposition parties would have raised that issue. But corruption has not happened that's why Toshakhana is raising the issue. Imran said – Toshakhan is not a museum. If I didn't buy those watches, someone else would have bought them during the auction. Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari also bought expensive vehicles from Toshakhana.
Pakistan's economy would have been better if there was no corona
Imran said that Pakistan's economy would have been better if the coronavirus had not come. Pakistan also suffered losses due to two years of lockdown in China. The country's economy is declining, and people's income is decreasing, how can the loan be repaid in such a situation? If there is no rule of law then how will any country move forward?
