High voltage drama was seen in the ongoing day-night test between India and Australia in Adelaide. In the eighth over of this test being played with the pink ball, KL Rahul got two lives in two balls. Scott Boland was bowling in this over. However, Rahul was lucky that Team India did not suffer any loss. Rahul was about to walk to the pavilion and Virat Kohli also reached the boundary line from the dressing room. Then the field umpire suddenly stopped both of them and after seeing what happened, everyone from commentators to fans was shocked.

 

Actually, during India's first innings, Boland came to bowl in the eighth over. Boland has been included in the Australian playing-11 in place of injured Josh Hazlewood in this match. Boland's very first ball was on the exact line length and the ball went from the side of Rahul's bat to the gloves of wicketkeeper Alex Carey. Boland appealed and the field umpire declared him caught out.

 

After this, Rahul got disappointed and started returning to the pavilion. He could not even open his account then. Then Virat was also shown coming to bat on the screen. However, the umpire stopped both Rahul and Virat. Then the third umpire asked the on-field umpire to signal a no-ball and thus Rahul got a lifeline. However, the ball did not hit the bat.

 

The way Rahul was returning, it seemed that he was sure that the ball took the edge of the bat and reached the wicketkeeper. However, the commentator said that there was no movement on the Snickometer, and neither did he even think of taking DRS. A flat line was seen on the Snickometer. Virat, standing on the boundary line, had to return again. Rahul not taking DRS was also surprising.

 

Rahul had not yet recovered from this properly that on the fifth ball of the eighth over, the ball took the edge of the bat and once again went to Usman Khawaja in the slip behind the wicket. However, Khawaja tried to take the catch by diving to the right, but the ball slipped from his hands. In this way, Rahul got two lives within five balls. After getting two lives, Rahul batted well and hit some great shots. However, in the 19th over, Starc got him caught by McSweeney. He could score 37 runs. Rahul shared a 69-run partnership for the second wicket with Shubman.

 

Earlier, India suffered a setback on the very first ball of the match. Mitchell Starc got Yashasvi Jaiswal out of LBW. He could not even open the account. There are three changes in Team India for this Test. Captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Ravichandran Ashwin have returned. Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel, and Washington Sundar have been benched.
