Will there be artificial rain in Delhi today? AQI exceeds 300... 'Toxic' air suffocates Delhi-NCR.

The air in Delhi-NCR has remained toxic since Diwali. Due to the pollution levels, GRAP-2 restrictions have been imposed in Delhi-NCR. Meanwhile, Delhi's air quality was also recorded as poor on Tuesday morning, causing breathing difficulties for residents.

It should be noted that the first artificial rain test in Delhi may take place today due to the pollution. Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has also hinted at this. Let's find out what the AQI was today and what Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa had to say.

Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that as soon as the weather clears in Kanpur, our aircraft will fly from there today. If it successfully takes off from there, cloud seeding will be carried out in Delhi today. This cloud seeding will cause rain in Delhi.

He stated that the visibility in Kanpur is currently 2000 meters. Visibility is awaited there for 5000 meters. Visibility is also low in Delhi. We expect it to be done by 1 p.m. Then it will fly over, do cloud seeding here, and come back.

According to CPCB data, Delhi's AQI had been stuck at 315 (very poor) since 10:43 p.m. Sunday. When updated at 12 p.m. Monday, it was 286. However, by 4 p.m., when the day's national bulletin was released, it had dropped to 301. Sunday's 4 p.m. reading was also 315, making it the second consecutive very poor air day and the sixth overall this month.

This has happened before. On November 14, 2023, only nine out of 40 stations had data available for several hours because DPCC stations were unable to share or transmit data with the CPCB.

On October 31, 2022, a similar glitch caused data updates for more than 11 hours. The data on the CPCB app was stuck from 5 am to 4 pm; however, the national bulletin for that day was released on the same day.
