Salman Khan was in the lead role. He was going to play the role of Lord Rama, while Hum Saath Saath Hain actress Sonali Bendre was playing the role of Mata Sita. Why could the film not be made?

Pooja Bhatt had also joined Sohail Khan's film. Salman had completed about 40 percent of the shooting and had also started promoting the film. Then rumors of a relationship between Sohail Khan and Pooja Bhatt started spreading. It is claimed that Pooja had also talked about marrying Sohail.
