IND vs ENG 3rd Test: How will England face Bumrah in the third test? This statement of Coach McCullum will win hearts

England had to face the lethal bowling of Jasprit Bumrah in the second Test, but head coach Brendon McCullum is hopeful that his players will be able to cope with the star Indian fast bowler. Bumrah took six wickets in the first innings of the second Test played in Visakhapatnam and three wickets in the second innings. On a pitch where the spinners were getting help, Bumrah showed his pace bowling skills.

 

How will English players deal with Bumrah?

When McCullum was asked how England would deal with Bumrah in the remaining three Tests, he said that his team does not believe in principles. McCullum said- We do not see what has happened before. We have to see that the mentality of our players is clear and they are ready to play. Whether our players have confidence or conviction in the way they play. The England batsmen are much better than me and they will work on how to deal with the Indian bowlers.

 

McCullum praised Bumrah

McCullum said, 'As far as playing Bumrah is concerned, we will see how far we reach. For now, we have to give him credit and say that his spell in the second Test is the best spell he has had so far on this tour. However, the former New Zealand captain also praised the skills of the Indian strike bowler. He said- Everything depends on the conditions here. When the ball is swinging like that, he becomes an even bigger threat. He is a brilliant bowler in all formats of the game. He is unique with his release points and the swing he can generate in the air.

'We are playing good cricket'

He said, 'There is no doubt that Bumrah is a very good bowler, but we have performed against very good bowlers in the last 18 months and have found ways to face them and we have to do the same.' He also said that the 1-1 draw after two Test matches shows that the England team is also fighting hard. McCullum said, 'We have played very good cricket in the last two Test matches. Yes, we made some mistakes in the second test, but we were successful in registering victory in the first.

 

Said this about Abu Dhabi

After the second Test in Visakhapatnam, the England team left for its base in Abu Dhabi before the series. The team will return to India on February 12 and reach Rajkot the same day ahead of the third Test starting on February 15. McCullum said it would be a separate 'camp' before the tour. He said, 'Will not practice too much in Abu Dhabi. The boys have worked incredibly hard in Abu Dhabi. We also have to take care of the fitness of the players. We have plenty of days to train. Now we wanted to go somewhere away from the hassles of the match.

 

McCullum's statement regarding route

McCullum said, 'I was talking to Rahul Dravid and he said that all his players are also going home. Home is a bit far for us, so we chose Abu Dhabi and we are going to spend time with our families. Then when we reach Rajkot, we will start working hard again. When asked about his main batsman Joe Root, who struggled in the first two Tests, McCullum said, 'He is a world-class player and as good as any England player. In the second innings of the second Test, when he was playing aggressively, he was trying to make a comeback. Sometimes you have to play with this bravery. Sometimes you get away with doing this. There are still three Tests left and he still has a chance to score a lot of runs.
