IND vs NZ: Head coach Gambhir supports KL Rahul, says team management's opinion is important, not social media

Indian team's head coach Gautam Gambhir has supported KL Rahul, who is in poor form. Gambhir says that the opinion of the team management matters more than the criticism going on social media. KL Rahul's bat did not work in the first Test match played against New Zealand in Bangalore, due to which he had to face criticism. Rahul could not even open his account in the first innings, while he scored 12 runs in the second innings.

 

India had to face defeat in the first match against New Zealand. Now the second Test match between the two teams will be played in Pune from Thursday. When asked whether KL Rahul will get a place in the team or not, Gambhir said in the press conference before the match, what is going on on social media does not matter. What the team management and leadership group thinks is important. KL Rahul is batting well and he played a balanced innings in the Kanpur Test against Bangladesh on a difficult pitch. Rahul scored 68 runs in the Kanpur Test against Bangladesh.

 

Gambhir said - Rahul can score big

 

Gambhir said I am sure Rahul knows that he has to score big and he has the ability to do so. That is why he has the support of the team. Everyone judges and international cricket means to be judged.

 

 

The Indian team came to play against New Zealand after winning the Test series 2-0 against Bangladesh, but it had to face defeat in the very first match. Sarfaraz scored the first Test century of his Test career in the first match, which made the situation difficult for Rahul. Gambhir said cricket is such a game. If we have enjoyed days like Kanpur, then we have to endure what happened in Bangalore. We did not show any intention to bat for the remaining two and a half days.
