The official website BookMyShow crashed on Wednesday as soon as tickets for the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match went on sale. The second phase of ticket sales for the men's T20 World Cup saw overwhelming demand for the highly anticipated match to be held in Colombo, just minutes after sales began.
This phase included tickets for the India-Pakistan match, leading to a sudden surge in website traffic. The website's servers were unable to handle the pressure due to a large number of people logging in and attempting to purchase tickets simultaneously, causing them to crash.
A source revealed that several users complained of failed transactions and long waiting times. The servers crashed due to the excessive number of requests coming in at once.
