South Africa (IND vs SA) had to face defeat by 243 runs against the Indian team. The team captained by Temba Bavuma was all out for just 83 runs while chasing 327 runs. In this way, the South African team had to face the most crushing defeat in the history of ODI cricket. This was the team's biggest defeat in the history of the World Cup.
Although this has happened with South Africa before, this was the second time in One Day International, when the entire team could not score as many runs as the players of the opposite team.
In 2013, South Africa collapsed after scoring 140 runs while chasing the target of 170 runs against Sri Lanka. At the same time, in terms of runs, the biggest defeat of the South African team so far was 182 runs, which the team got against Pakistan in 2002.

Apart from the batting of the Indian team, the bowling was also amazing against the South African team. Ravindra Jadeja did not allow the South African batsmen to stay at the crease for long in the match. Jadeja took a maximum of 5 wickets and Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav got 2-2 wickets. Whereas, Virat Kohli played an unbeaten inning of 101 runs in the match.
