After capturing the ODI series, the 3-match T20 series is going to start from Wednesday. All three matches of Fatafat cricket will be played at the Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata. For this series too, Team India is being considered as the favorite to win.

The team's vice-captain KL Rahul is out of the series due to injury. In such a situation, in the first match, Ishan Kishan can enter as an opener with Rohit Sharma.

Team India has not lost since 2017

India has won the last three bilateral T20I series against West Indies. West Indies last defeated India in a T20I series in 2017. Team India has not been able to beat West Indies in 5 years.

Eyes on these players

In the IPL auction held just before the T20 series, 10 players included in the current team India have got big buyers in the auction. In such a situation, all eyes will be on Shreyas Iyer (Kolkata Knight Riders, Rs 12 crore 25 lakh), Harshal Patel (Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rs 10 crore 75 lakh), and Shardul Thakur (Delhi Capitals, Rs 10 crore 75 lakh).

Kohli's form a big concern

Virat Kohli, the former captain of Team India, could not perform anything special in the ODI series. In such a situation, big innings will be expected from this player in today's match. Kohli's last century came against Bangladesh on the same ground in November 2019. Apart from Kohli, the team will also have high hopes from Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav. Both these players were in good form in the ODI series.

West Indies looking for first win

In the spin department, the onus will be on Yuzvendra Chahal, who made a comeback in the ODI series with a scintillating performance. It remains to be seen whether Rajasthan leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi gets a chance to make his debut after Washington Sundar was ruled out of the series due to a hamstring strain. Bishnoi has been included in the team after a stellar performance in IPL and domestic cricket.

Pollard's team would like to win the first match

After a flop show in the ODI series, the Kieron Pollard-led West Indies team will look to do better in their T20 series. All-rounder Jason Holder has been in good form and took four wickets in four balls in the last match of the T20I series against England. Apart from Holder, the team has all-rounders like Odeon Smith, Akil Hossain, and Pollard.
