External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with UN chief Antonio Guterres on Thursday. Jaishankar tweeted that in the meeting with UN chief Antonio Guterres, there was a discussion about the Ukraine crisis as well as the major events taking place in Afghanistan and Myanmar. Jaishankar said that the idea of providing food and energy security to Ukraine in this crisis was shared.

At this time it is difficult for Ukraine to deal with the situation. Along with this, there was also a discussion about the attitude of the Taliban government in Afghanistan and stopping the violence in Myanmar. After the meeting, UN Chief Guterres expressed happiness and said that I appreciate India's art of dealing effectively with any challenge.

There have been 2+2 dialogues on many issues like defense cooperation

Simultaneously, Jaishankar met with US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and US Trade Affairs Representative Catherine Tai in the fourth 2+2 Dialogue. Let us tell you that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar are in Washington these days for the 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue with US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin and Foreign Minister Antony Blinken.

Tributes paid on the 131st birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar

Along with this, Jaishankar participated in the tribute program organized on the 131st birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar at the Indian Consulate in New York. Remembering Ambedkar, he said that he was a force for modern India.

The agreement has been given to America on the matter of Human Rights

Earlier on Wednesday, Jaishankar had responded with a sharp reaction to the US on Human Rights. He had clearly said that the issue of human rights was not a topic of discussion during the India-US 2+2 ministerial meeting. Taking a tough stand, Jaishankar had said that people are entitled to have an opinion about India.

We also share our views on the human rights situation of other people including America and we are concerned about the issue of human rights in America. The way people of the Sikh community are being attacked continuously in the US, is condemnable.
