A ship was recently rescued from pirates in the Arabian Sea by the Indian Navy. The efficiency and military capability with which the Navy carried out this operation is being praised all over the world and experts have also become admirers of the capabilities of the Indian Navy. American media reports have quoted many experts as saying that the capability of the Indian Navy's Special Forces is one of the most powerful Special Forces in the world.
'Indian Navy's training is world-class'
Last week, the Navy rescued a merchant ship MV Rouen from pirates and in that operation, 17 crew members were rescued and around 35 pirates were forced to surrender and detained. Naval warships, patrolling ships, drones, Indian Air Force C-17 transport aircraft, surveillance jets, and Marine Commandos participated in this operation. John Bradford of the Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs says, 'The success of this operation shows that the Indian Navy's training, command and control capabilities and other capabilities are world-class. The special thing about this operation is that in this difficult operation, there was minimal loss by carrying out the operation with coordination.
Experts are concerned that Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels are increasingly targeting merchant ships in the Red Sea following the Israel-Hamas war. Houthi rebels can join hands with international organizations. At the same time, pirates have also become very active in recent times. In such a situation, a serious crisis may arise for international shipping routes and the global economy. In December last year, pirates hijacked the Malta-flagged and Bulgarian-operated merchant ship MV Rouen. After hijacking, the pirates took the ship to their territory. Now this ship was being used by pirates to loot other ships.
This is how the Navy conducted the operation
The Indian Navy had recently traced the ship MV Rouen. After this, he sent his warship INS Kolkata, which was monitoring the area, to save the ship from the pirates. Also, with the help of drones, they found out about the pirates present on the ship. Pirates also fired on naval ships. INS Kolkata asked the pirates to surrender. Meanwhile, with the help of C-17 transport aircraft, Navy's Commando Force Marcos was airdropped in the Arabian Sea.
Marcos's commandos boarded the hijacked ship and conducted an operation forcing all the pirates to surrender. There was no loss in this operation. Bulgarian leaders have also praised India and thanked PM Modi. Bulgarian President Rumen Radev also praised India. The Navy has also rescued 17 crew members from the ship, including 7 Bulgarian nationals. Former US Navy officer Carl Schuster has also praised the Navy and especially the Marcos Commandos, who jumped from an airplane into the Arabian Sea and captured the ship. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in January that maritime security in the region is a priority for India.
