To implement the investment agreements made in the Global Investors Summit and to make land easily available for industries, the state government has decided to make landowners partners. Under the Land Pooling Policy-2024, Industrial Development Authorities will be able to mobilize land for setting up industries.
At the same time, a part of the land taken from the landowner will be returned to them as 'developed land', which they can transfer to someone else's name. In the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the proposal related to the land pooling policy was postponed after discussion. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath suggested some amendments to make the policy more practical and asked to put it in the next cabinet meeting.
Let us tell you that under the Land Pooling Policy-2024, Industrial Development Authorities will be able to mobilize land for setting up industries and landowners will also be able to voluntarily become partners in industrial development. This policy is to be effective in all Industrial Development Authorities except the notified area of Greater Noida, Noida and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.
Under the pooling policy, the Industrial Development Authorities will acquire land that will be around their master or zonal plan 80 percent of which will be voluntarily given by the landowners. The remaining 20 percent of the land will be acquired under the Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013.
