PM Modi held a meeting with Qatar's Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister HH Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman in Doha and talked in detail about strengthening the bilateral partnership.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India is trying to promote historical and deep relations with Qatar. Extensive talks are planned with Qatar's top leadership.
Earlier, in UAE, PM Modi met President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Both leaders held delegation-level talks. They reviewed bilateral partnerships and discussed new areas of cooperation. They welcomed the deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership in all areas such as trade and investment, digital infrastructure, fintech, energy, infrastructure, culture, and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
The leaders of the two countries also discussed strengthening energy partnerships. He appreciated that apart from the UAE being one of the largest sources of crude oil and LPG, India is now entering into long-term contracts for LNG.
The UAE government had given 20,000 square meters of land to build the temple in Abu Dhabi. The UAE government had announced this in 2015 when Prime Minister Modi went there on a two-day visit. The first Hindu temple was inaugurated in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Emphasis was laid on eco-friendly methods in the construction of the temple.
The authentic ancient art and architecture have been revived through carvings in the temple. Ashok Kotecha, a spokesperson for the temple management, said the design of the master plan was completed in early 2020. Work on the historic temple is progressing with the support of the community and leadership from India and the UAE.
