
Abu Dhabi Hindu Temple: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates. PM Modi will inaugurate the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi today. Apart from this, PM Modi will address the gathering of world leaders at the World Government Summit in Dubai on 14 February. On the first day of his visit, PM Modi met the President of UAE. After Abu Dhabi, PM Modi will leave for Qatar. In Qatar, he is expected to meet His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The PM is also likely to meet several other high dignitaries in Qatar.
If we talk about the Hindu temple, BAPS Hindu temple has been built on about 27 acres of land and the construction work of this temple has been going on since 2019. The land for this temple has been donated by the UAE government, which the PM mentioned in the 'Ahlan Modi' (Hello Modi) program while addressing the people of Indian origin in Abu Dhabi on the first day of his visit.
What is the specialty of the temple?
This temple built by Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) is spread over 27 acres of land. There are temples of various deities inside the temple. There are seven shrines inside this grand temple, each dedicated to different deities from the North, East, West, and South parts of India. These include Lord Ram and Sita, Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva-Parvati and Ganesh-Karthik; Lord Jagannath, Lord Krishna and Radha, Shri Akshar Purushottam Maharaj; Lord Tirupati Balaji and Lord Ayyappa are included.
Artisans from Rajasthan and Gujarat did the work in the temple.
Located near Al Rahba on the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Highway, this temple built by Bochasan resident Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) has been built on about 27 acres of land. The façade of the temple has exquisite marble carvings on a sandstone background, carved from over 25,000 stone pieces by skilled artisans from Rajasthan and Gujarat. A large quantity of pink sandstone has been brought to Abu Dhabi from northern Rajasthan for the temple.
