Indo-Nepal border: Indo-Nepal border re-sealed due to corona infection, people being withdrawn from the border

The Nepal government has increased its vigor because of the corona infection. The entry of Indian citizens through the Sonouli border into Nepal was stopped on Friday. As soon as the order came, Indian citizens were sent back from the Belahia border of Nepal adjacent to Sonauli. According to the new order, now only people associated with cargo trucks, customs clearance, Nepali citizens working in India, and foreign nationals holding visa passports will be able to go to Nepal by showing the Covid test report.

 

Ban on the weekly market to be held in Nepal's cities and rural areas

 

Following the order, the Nepal Police returned hundreds of Indian nationals, most of whom wanted to go to the Baiharwa Eye Hospital for treatment. Belhia police said that the stay is for an indefinite period. Instructions have also been issued to quarantine the Indians who went to Nepal through the open border. Apart from this, the Nepal government has also banned weekly markets to be held in Nepal's cities and rural areas. Wearing masks has been made compulsory across the country.

 

Covid testing center built on the border

 

Before this, orders were also issued to close hotels and shops from 8 am to 7 am and night curfew on April 8 for vigilance from Covid. Covid hospitals have been built in Naypyidaw and Butwal. Covid Investigation Center has been set up along the Belahia border. In the last 24 hours, 247 new cases of Covid infection have come to light in the Rupanadehi district. While three infected people have died in Butwal.

 

Nepali officials said

 

Rupanadehi District CDO Asman Tamang says that the entry of Indian nationals has been banned on the instructions of Nepal's Ministry of Home Affairs. District Magistrate of Maharajganj, Dr. Ujjwal Kumar said that because of increasing cases of corona infection, vigilance flooding has been given at the border. Necessary steps will be taken after negotiating with the entry of Indian nationals to the equivalent officer of Rupnadehi district.
