Indonesia Earthquake: 5.6 magnitude earthquake in Jakarta, 20 killed, more than 300 injured

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in Jakarta, Indonesia. During this, 20 people lost their lives. At the same time, more than 300 people are said to be injured. Herman Suhrman, the head of Siyanjur's administration, told that according to the information I have received, about 20 people have died in only one hospital and at least 300 people are being treated. Most have suffered fractures due to being trapped in buildings. The number of casualties may also increase.

 

 

The Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said that a 5.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in Indonesia's capital Jakarta on Monday. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km in Cianjur, West Java. However, no possibility of a tsunami has been expressed due to this.

 

 

According to information, people got scared after the earthquake in Jakarta. People working in their offices also came out. The building appeared to be shaking due to the tremors of the earthquake. This created chaos.

 

Earlier, there was a strong earthquake in West Indonesia on Friday night. It was a matter of relief that there was no news of any loss of life or property during this period. The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.9. Its epicenter was 202 km southwest of South Bengkulu at a depth of 25 km. This was followed by another aftershock, whose magnitude was 5.4.
