Earthquake tremors were felt on the Greek island of Crete on Monday morning. After which people ran out of their homes. The intensity of the earthquake on the Richter scale was 5.5. According to information, the earthquake occurred at 4.54 am (Indian time).

 

Its depth was 80 km (49.71 mi). There is no immediate news of damage. The earthquake was felt as far as Cairo and Egypt, the Athens Geodynamic Institute said. Earlier, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) revised the earthquake's magnitude from 6 to 5.4.
