A mob set ablaze an open gym constructed at PT Sports Complex in New Lamka in Manipur's Churachandpur district on Thursday. This gym was to be inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.

 

The mob also ransacked the venue of the public meeting at Sadbhav Mandap. After this incident, internet has been temporarily banned in Churachandpur district of the state and section 144 has been imposed.

The mob attack took place after a forum of indigenous tribal leaders called for a Churachandpur bandh from 8 am to 4 pm.
