This is only his second season when he has scored fewer than 200 runs. In 2016, Pant scored 198 runs in 10 matches. This includes one half-century.

Pant has so far scored 3419 runs in 123 matches in his IPL career at an average of 32.88 and a strike rate of 146.11. This includes one century and 19 half-centuries. Pant emerged as the most expensive player in the mega auction for this season. He is the most expensive player in IPL history, but his performance has been poor. Due to this, his team has also suffered. It will be interesting to see how Lucknow franchise Sanjiv Goenka will react, because before Pant, KL Rahul, who was the captain of Lucknow, was reprimanded by Goenka in the middle of the field after his poor batting.

The Lucknow team had a good start but lost its way in the middle. The team has won five out of 12 matches so far and has lost seven.
