Iran police action intensified after students protest: Education Institute raided, two protesters killed; 154 deaths so far

School students have also participated in the demonstration against the hijab in Iran. The police have also intensified action against the protesters. According to media reports, on Saturday, security forces took action on the education institute. Bullets and tear gas shells were fired at the protesters. Two protesters were killed.

 

Apart from this, the police shot a car driver in the Kurdistan capital Sanandaj. At the same time, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shot a protester. Both have died. According to the human rights group Hengao, two teachers of a school in Sanandaj were also seriously injured in the action. Iran Human Rights has claimed that 154 people have died so far in the protests that have been going on since September 16.

On Saturday, Iranian President Raisi arrived at Tehran's Al-Jahra University amid protests. Here he said – Enemies feel, they will be able to fulfill the purpose inside the university. But, they do not know that our teachers and students are aware. Their plans will fail. After the President's speech, the students raised slogans for the death of the dictator supremo. However, it is not clear whether the sloganeering took place in Raisi's presence or after his departure.

The Iranian government is taking strict action against the protesters to suppress the protest. The protest, which started in the Kurdish province, has now reached 9 provinces of Iran. In Tehran, Alborz, Isfahan, Persia, Kerman, Khorasan, Azerbaijan, and Gilan, people have also taken to the streets against the government's anti-women policies.
