ISIS-K has claimed responsibility for the suicide bomb attack in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. ISIS-Khorasan has claimed that 20 people died in the blast. However, the Taliban is giving different numbers of casualties. Khalid Zadran, a spokesman for Kabul's police department, said five civilians were killed in the attack, while Ustad Faridun, an official in the Taliban's information ministry, said 20 people had been killed.
More than 40 people injured in the blast were admitted to the hospital. Hospital director Stefano Souza said that to treat the injured, they had to set up beds in the kitchen and canteen as well.
ISIS-Khorasan considers the Taliban as an enemy
ISIS-Khorasan's Amaq news agency reported on Telegram that their attacker blew himself up near the entry gate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A large number of Taliban personnel were present there at that time. ISIS-Khorasan terrorist organization is an affiliate organization of ISIS. It operates in Afghanistan and considers the Taliban as its enemy.
The driver of the news agency saw the blast
At the time of the blast, the team of the news agency AFP was taking an interview in the building next to the ministry. His driver Jamshed Karimi was waiting outside. He told me - a person had gone ahead of me. He had a rifle on his shoulder and a bag in his hand. A few seconds later I saw that man blow himself up and there was a loud bang.
Taliban is not telling the correct figures for death
The Taliban is not giving the exact number of people killed in the attack. Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran said that five civilians were killed and several were injured in the attack. At the same time, Ustad Faridun, an official in the Taliban's Ministry of Information, confirmed the death of 20 people. He told that the attacker wanted to enter the ministry office but could not succeed.
The blast took place in the high-security area
The suicide attack took place at 4 pm in the Janbak area of Kabul. Professor Obaidullah Bahir at the American University of Kabul told that the place where the blast took place was a high-security area. Special documents are required to go there. Still, the attacker reached there and carried out the blast.
It is being told that at the time of the blast, a meeting was going on between the Taliban and China in the Foreign Ministry.
