Jammu and Kashmir: Rohingyas fall, preparations begin to send more than 150 people to their homeland

Action has begun against Rohingyas in some parts of India. First, the process of sending more than 150 Rohingya Muslims into custody in Jammu and Kashmir and sending them to Myanmar and Bangladesh has started. Significantly, the Rohingya are a Bengali-speaking Muslim minority in Myanmar. This community fled to India after the violence in their country. However, a large number of Rohingyas have fled to Bangladesh and even today they have taken refuge in lakhs of people there. There have also been reports of fire in Rohingyas' camps in Bangladesh several times.

 

Rohingya Muslims still in large numbers in Jammu

 

A government official said that the process of repatriating Rohingya Muslims taken into custody in Jammu has started. These people are housed in 'a special center' in Kathua district where they are being provided all necessary facilities. It is being told that Rohingya Muslims are still present in large numbers in Jammu and Kashmir. Although it is being traced.

 

 

More than 150 Rohingyas arrested in March

 

The official said that Divisional Commissioner of Jammu Raghav Langer visited this center in Hiranagar and expressed satisfaction over the facilities available to the people there. On March 6, during the verification drive in the city, about 168 Rohingyas were found to be living illegally and were sent to this center. These Rohingyas are being closely monitored by the administration. Also, a large number of security forces have been deployed in the areas.

 

Rohingya are inhabited by thousands

 

It is being told that several political parties and social organizations in Jammu have appealed to the Center to repatriate Rohingyas and Bangladeshis. All these Rohingya and Bangladeshi are living in this area illegally. These parties and organizations allege that their presence is a 'conspiracy to change the demographic character' and a 'threat to peace. According to government figures, more than 13700 foreigners, including Rohingya Muslims and Bangladeshis, are inhabited in Jammu and Samba districts.
