On Wednesday, two days before the public meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Doda district on September 14 for the assembly elections, the army and security forces killed two terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed. The encounter took place in Basantgarh on the border of Udhampur-Kathua districts. The distance of the public meeting place from the encounter site via the hilly path is about 65 kilometers.
The border of Kathua district adjacent to the India-Pakistan border touches Udhampur and further Doda district. This route has been an old route for the terrorists who infiltrate. Voting is to be held in Doda district on September 18. At the same time, a massive operation of the security forces is going on in the forest to kill another companion of the killed terrorists.

According to sources, the killed terrorists had infiltrated from across the border about five months ago to disrupt the Lok Sabha elections. Since then, they have been roaming in the forests of Kathua-Udhampur-Doda and were now planning to plot an attack during the assembly elections.
Meanwhile, the army has shared information on X along with the photographs of the killed terrorists and the weapons recovered from them.
Two terrorists killed
According to the information, based on the strong information about the hiding of Jaish terrorists in the Jwalata Top area of Basantgarh, an army para special force from the Western Command started the operation along with the SOG team of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Seeing the siege, the terrorists opened fire and tried to escape, but the security forces killed two terrorists in retaliation.
A huge cache of weapons was recovered.
A large amount of ammunition including an M-4 carbine rifle, AK rifle, pistol, magazine, mobile phone, and other items have been recovered from the killed terrorists.
According to sources, the security forces had strong information about four terrorists going from Kathua district towards Udhampur. Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma was also visiting the hilly areas of Kathua for a few days reviewing the security and giving necessary guidelines.
Pakistan violated the ceasefire, and Jawan was injured.
Pakistan is furious with the preparations for the assembly elections going on in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistani Rangers violated the ceasefire on the India-Pakistan international border in the Kanachak sector of Jammu, in which a BSF jawan was injured after being shot in the chest.
At the same time, BSF also gave a strong response to this incident. The injured jawan was admitted to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Jammu. Where his condition is said to be out of danger. The injured jawan Dhruva Jyoti Das is a resident of Assam.
Kanachak police station in-charge Sham Lal said that according to BSF, on Tuesday-Wednesday night at around 2.30 am, the BSF jawan was posted on duty at the post in the Kanachak sector of Akhnoor. Suddenly Pakistani Rangers from across the border targeted the jawan with a sniper gun.
The jawan fell on the ground after being shot in the chest. When his colleagues saw, blood was coming out of the jawan's body. The jawan was immediately taken from the post to the hospital. Where his condition remains stable. The BSF spokesperson said that our soldiers also gave a strong response to this action of Pakistan.
At the same time, after this incident, vigilance has been increased on the border and the soldiers have been asked to give a befitting reply to any conspiracy of Pakistan. After this, there has been no firing from both sides in the Kanachak sector.
Terrorists' conspiracy to disrupt the election failed.
The security forces foiled the conspiracy of the terrorists to disrupt the assembly elections by recovering a large amount of ammunition in the Keran sector adjacent to the LoC in district Kupwara.
A police officer from Kupwara said that the intelligence system had revealed that the terrorist handlers sitting in occupied Jammu and Kashmir have delivered a large consignment of weapons to the Keran sector for their cadres active in Kashmir.
As soon as this was known, a joint task force of police and army launched a search operation. The security forces identified the place where this equipment was kept for a short time. The items recovered included assault rifle cartridges, hand grenades, RPG rounds, IED-making material, and other items.
