The attacker is a resident of Jhalokati district of Bangladesh.
According to the police, the accused was about to flee to his native village when he was detained in Hiranandani Estate in Thane. According to the officer, it has been learned that the accused is a native of the Jhalokati district of Bangladesh.

Police said that a labour contractor helped Mumbai Police in catching the attacker. The labour contractor gave all the information about the attacker to the police and as per his information, the police traced the accused to a labour camp in a forested area of Thane.
The officer said the accused had earlier worked in a hotel in Thane and no criminal record has been found against his name so far.
