India has set a new record by exporting goods worth $ 400 billion in the current financial year 2021-22. The special thing is that the export target for April 2021 to March 2022 was achieved nine days before the end of the current financial year. Farmers, weavers, micro, small and medium industries, producers, exporters, congratulations to all of them for making records. This is a milestone in our journey to build a 'Self-reliant India'. Today local has become global.
Major export products: Petroleum, electronics, engineering, leather, coffee, plastics, readymade garments of all textiles, meat, dairy products, sea-borne products, and tobacco.
Achievement despite challenges
Ajay Sahai, director-general of FIEO, an Indian exporters' body, said that India achieved this record amid challenges like shortage of containers, increased freight prices, lack of capital. It is also $110 billion more than last year. This will have to be increased further in the future. This will be helped by Free Trade Agreement and Production Based Incentive (PLI) scheme. FIEO Vice President Khalid Khan said that this achievement is also important for the country because we have achieved it amid the pandemic.
