New Zealand Vs Sri Lanka : New Zealand made a comeback with Darrell Mitchell's century, Sri Lanka's three wickets fell in the second innings

Darrell Mitchell's (102) century and Matt Henry's 72 off 75 balls helped New Zealand take an 18-run lead in the first innings of the first Test against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka had scored 355 runs in the first innings. New Zealand managed to score 373 runs in the first innings. At the end of the third day's play, Sri Lanka scored 83 runs for three wickets, which means they have a lead of 65 runs. Angelo Mathews is playing after scoring 20 runs.

 

 

New Zealand started playing ahead of 162 runs on five wickets on the third day. The lower-order batsmen played well with Mitchell. Captain Tim Southee scored 25 runs. After that Henry played his fifth half-century innings. He hit ten fours and three sixes in the innings. Henry hit four fours and a six in one over from Kasun Rajitha.

In Sri Lanka's second innings, Blair Tickner took three wickets for 28 runs and sent Oshada Fernando (28), Dimuth Karunaratne (17), and Kusal Mendis (14) to the pavilion. Wenger left the field before the end of the game with an ankle injury.
