Rain in China has broken the record of 140 years. In the last five days, 744.8 mm or 29.3 inches of rain has been recorded in Beijing. These rains are being caused by Typhoon Doksuri. Earlier in 1891, there was a record of 609 mm of rainfall in consecutive days.
21 people died in China
It has been said by Chinese officials that 21 people have died, while 26 are missing. Roads have been damaged. The power supply has also been affected. The areas most affected by rainwater are Beijing and Hebei Province. Thousands of people have been shifted to shelters. The flood alert has been withdrawn after the water level of major rivers fell below the danger mark on Wednesday.
Schools closed due to Typhoon Doksuri
At the same time, the clouds associated with Typhoon Doksuri are continuously moving north. Given this, schools in Harbin have been closed. The construction work has also been stopped till Thursday evening. People have been advised to stay at home.
