Lok Sabha Election 2024 All parties have intensified their preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, now the parties have started making strategies for the selection of candidates. BJP's Central Election Committee (CEC) held a meeting last night regarding this. In the meeting, its members including Prime Minister Modi brainstormed on finalizing the first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
Brainstorming on candidates with state leaders
The upcoming Lok Sabha elections are likely to be held in April-May. Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states including BJP President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh attended the meeting. All these CMs attended the meeting to discuss the candidates from the parliamentary constituencies of the state.
Many other leaders including Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Dev Sai, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Goa CM Pramod Sawant attended the meeting.
More attention on lost seats
According to the information, in the meeting, there was discussion about the seats of those candidates on whom BJP was defeated in the 2019 elections and on which it has set the target of improving its prospects.
It is believed that the party may soon release its first list, which will include the names of some trusted and big faces.
Tickets for big faces may be cut
Meanwhile, it is believed that the party may field many Union Ministers including Bhupendra Yadav, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Mansukh Mandaviya in the general elections because the party had not even fielded them in the Rajya Sabha elections. At the same time, it has also come to light that as usual, the party may give a chance to new faces on some difficult seats, due to which there is a possibility of the ticket of well-known big faces being cut.
