On Wednesday, an event on world human rights day is organized by the National Human Rights
Commision (NHRC). In which lok sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan and the NHRC charman Justice K G
balakrishnan made their refrences to “women’s security in the country”.
Also the Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra mahajan releases an NHRC publication at the event.
Mahajan said,” A lot needs to be done to make the society think about these issues and to bring
about a change in their outlook. The protection and the observation of human rights day should not
be the responsibility of NHRC or the government, but of all the people. It is not will sufficient to just
taking about the day and celebrate the day. We have to become mutually subtle towards each
other’s’ right all times and if we saw somebody asking for help then without thinking of anything or
somebody to come, we have to help to the needy people.”
In addition to this justice Balakrishnan said, “NHRC had been focusing on the rights of vulnerable
groups women, children and the disabled persons.
