Dream America is becoming a source of trouble for Indians. The wait for an interview appointment for a tourist visa has now crossed 30 months for those wishing to travel there. This trouble has to go away.
On the other hand, it is difficult for Indians who have taken work visas in America to return home now. If an Indian comes to India in between to meet his family, then he has to get a verification stamp on his visa to return to America. Due to this the waiting period to return to America has also reached 12 months. Indians are turning to Vietnam to get the stamp done soon.
more trouble returning
It is learned that many such Indians meet skilled workers in America, who tell that they are not coming to India to meet their relatives due to fear of formalities of getting visa stamped. In the country too, many such cases are coming to the fore in front of visa agents, in which H1B visa holders have come from America, but now they are not able to get the visa verified for return.
Visa agents are charging arbitrary money
There are only two situations in front of such people who have come from America. First- they are either being duped by private visa agents who are charging Rs 25 to 30 thousand per passport for getting them stamped. Second- Turning to such countries, where waiting for stamping in the US Embassy is less. Vietnam has emerged as such an alternative. There it takes only 7 to 10 days to complete this formality.
An increasing number of Indian tourists in Vietnam
For this reason, there has been a huge jump in the number of tourists going from India to Vietnam this year. According to data from Vietnam's tourism office, this year the number of tourists going there from India has increased by 51 percent every month. More than 20 thousand tourists from India went there in October itself. By October this year, this number has crossed 82 thousand.
America's assurance - steps should be taken to increase visa
US embassy officials spoke of several steps to be taken to improve the visa situation. Officials said last week that US visa issuance waiting is expected to drop by the summer of 2023. This number is estimated to reach around 12 lakhs.
The US is taking several initiatives, including recruiting more personnel and expanding "drop box" facilities, to address the long wait times for visas. Visa agents, on the other hand, say that the appointment waiting to get a B1B2 visa for the US has crossed 30 months.
