The judicial custody of former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh has been extended for another 14 days. He was arrested by the ED on 2 November 2021 in connection with the extortion and money laundering charges against him. He is currently lodged in Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai.
At the same time, the lawyer of sacked Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waje had cross-examined Anil Deshmukh a day before the Chandiwal Commission. During this, Deshmukh said that he called Parambir Singh for questioning in the presence of three additional chief secretaries after the Antilia bomb was suspected. But Singh was trembling with fear.

Anil Deshmukh further said that the officials present there suggested that the matter be transferred to ATS, but objecting to this, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh said that the investigation should be kept with the Mumbai Police. Anil Deshmukh said before the Chandiwal Commission that on 6 March 2021, I transferred the case to ATS and removed Sachin Waje from the case.
