Shiv Sena and Congress seem to be at loggerheads after Rahul Gandhi's alleged comment on Veer Savarkar. After his statement, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut warned on Friday that such statements could cause a rift in the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra.

Now on Saturday, Raut said that India is the land of Jawaharlal Nehru. The whole country respects leaders like Veer Savarkar, Subhash Chandra Bose, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Vallabhbhai Patel, and Mahatma Gandhi who sacrificed their lives in the freedom movement. He further said that former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru has done a lot for the country and that India is his land.

India would have become Pakistan without Nehru

Sanjay Raut said Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru contributed a lot to the development of the country. Had this not happened, it would not have taken much time for the country to become like Pakistan. Earlier on Friday, Raut had said that Shiv Sena considers Veer Savarkar as an ideal. In such a situation, commenting on him can cause a rift in the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra.

Congress bid – tell why Savarkar used to take pension from the British

At the same time, Congress is also not taking the name of backing down after Rahul Gandhi's remarks. Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole on Saturday said those who are criticizing party leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on Savarkar should first explain why he used to get a pension of Rs 60 from the British. He further said that Bharat Jodo Yatra has received tremendous response in Maharashtra. Due to this, the Congress organization is united and energetic. Patole said his party wanted an ideological debate and wanted to unite people.
