Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday urged the youth of the country to remain vigilant against anti-national forces and said that only this will protect the democratic values of India. Addressing a function organized at Delhi Cantonment on the occasion of the formal inauguration of the NCC Republic Day Camp, he also said that nationalism should be placed above all other interests, whether individual or organizational.
The Vice President said that the foundation of our national transformation rests on five basic pillars and these include social harmony, environmental protection, and the fulfillment of civic duties. Our Constitution gives us fundamental rights and we are conscious of those fundamental rights, but there are some fundamental duties too. When every citizen of the country believes in and follows the fundamental duties, the country develops.
Will conclude with the Prime Minister's rally
The Republic Day camp, which started on December 30, will run for about a month. A total of 2,361 NCC cadets from across the country are participating in it. It will conclude with the Prime Minister's rally on January 27. The Vice President said that making India a developed nation by 2047 is no longer a dream but a definite goal. You (NCC cadets) represent our young population. All of you are important for the development of India in 2047.
You are fortunate that you are living at a time when India is an emerging country with unmatched infrastructure development. Let us tell you, that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to make India a developed country by 2047 on the completion of 100 years of the country's independence from colonial rule.
