The second phase of the Navy's most famous Malabar exercise in the Bay of Bengal began today. This exercise will run from 12-15 October. The Malabar Naval Exercise began in 1992 as a bilateral exercise between the Indian Navy and the US Navy in the Indian Ocean. Japan also became its member in 2015. Australia also started participating in the Malabar exercise last year after India's invitation.
