
The Pakistani conspiracy to shake Punjab has been foiled on Wednesday. Punjab Police and BSF have recovered a huge cache of arms in the Khemkaran area of Tarn Taran district near the International Border. an officer gave this information on Wednesday. In a joint operation, the Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) have recovered 22 pistols, 44 magazines, 100 live cartridges, and one kg of heroin.
Drone smuggling of heroin and weapons
Pakistan is busy sending consignments of weapons and heroin to Punjab through drones. Earlier tiffin bombs have also been dropped by drones. However, in time the Punjab Police recovered these consignments of weapons. Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has also expressed concern over the activities of Pakistan. In 2019, 232.561 kg of heroin was caught in Punjab. In 2020, this figure reached 506.241 kg. From 2021 till 31 May, 241.231 kg of heroin has been caught.
In September 2019, the police recovered five rifles, 150 cartridges, and seven pistols from the Khemkaran sector. This consignment of weapons was dropped from the drone.
December 2020 Border Security Force (BSF) fired 70 rounds in Kot Razada. However, the drone returned after dropping the weapon.
In the Gurdaspur district also Pakistani drones had dropped a consignment of 11 grenades. However, the consignment was recovered. The matter is of 22 December 2020.
On February 22 this year, BSF fired on Pakistani drones in the Gurdaspur sector.
The State Special Operation Cell captured 50 pistols on 18 June 2021. This consignment was also dropped by a drone.
On August 8, 2021, Punjab Police recovered a large consignment of weapons in Amritsar. The Pakistani drone recovered tiffin bombs, three kg RDX, five grenades, and 100 live cartridges.
