The Supreme Court has constituted a committee of three women High Court judges to monitor the relief, rehabilitation, and compensation of the victims of violence in Manipur. The apex court has entrusted former Maharashtra DGP Dattatreya Padsalgikar with the responsibility of monitoring the CBI probe into the criminal cases in the Manipur violence. At least five officers above the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police will be added to the CBI on deputation from different states to ensure a sense of confidence, the bench said. The bench said, 11 FIRs will be transferred to CBI. 42 SIT will look into those cases which will not be transferred to CBI. The SIT will be supervised by six DIG rank officers from outside Manipur.
