Manipur: Three killed in fresh violence in Manipur, militants attack village

In the latest incident of violence in Manipur, three people have died. According to media reports, three villagers have been killed in an encounter with militants in Manipur's Ukhrul district. According to media reports, three villagers were killed in a heavy exchange of fire between the security forces and militants in Thowai Kuki village of Ukhrul district.

Those killed have been identified as Jamkhogin Haokip (26), Thangkhokai Haokip (35) and Holenson Byte (24). These three people were missing after the firing. After the firing stopped, these three were searched and the bodies of all three were found. Let us inform you that the majority Meitai community in Manipur is demanding tribal reservation. The reason for this is that the population of the Meitei community is about 53 percent but these people live in only 10 percent of the plains of the state. On the other hand, the Kuki and Naga communities live in the hilly areas of the state, which is about 90 percent of the state. The Meitei community cannot buy land on the hills under the Land Reform Act, while the Kuki and Naga communities have no such restriction. This is the reason, why the violence started and till now more than 100 people have died in this violence.

 

 

CBI begins probe into Manipur violence

At the same time, the Central Investigation Agency CBI has started the investigation of Manipur violence. For this, a team of 53 officers has been formed, in which 29 women officers have been included. The CBI team also includes three DIGs Lovely Katiyar, Nirmala Devi, and Mohit Gupta, and Superintendent of Police Rajveer Singh. These officers will give their report to CBI Joint Director Ghanshyam Upadhyay. Let us tell you that this is the first time that such a large number of women investigating officers have been included in the investigation team.
