A list of 53 officers, including 29 women officers of various ranks, has been released on Wednesday for the investigation of caste violence in Manipur. 29 women, including two women DIG rank officers, have been included in the initial cases under CBI investigation.
More than 65 thousand FIRs have been registered in the state regarding violence and atrocities against women. Of these, the investigation of 11 cases has been handed over to the CBI.

Two women Additional Superintendents of Police and six women Deputy Superintendents of Police have been included in the investigation. It may be noted that the Deputy Superintendent of Police cannot be the supervisory officer in such cases, so the agency has sent three DIGs and one SP to monitor and supervise the investigation. Apart from this, 16 inspectors and 10 sub-inspectors have also been included in the investigation.
CBI probing 17 cases
Let us tell you that the CBI is going to investigate nine more cases related to Manipur violence recently. Earlier, the CBI was probing eight cases, that is, a total of 17 cases are currently being investigated by the CBI. In addition to violence, these investigations also include cases of harassment.
More than 160 people died in violence
