The functioning of auto companies is starting to get back on track. Gradually companies are starting production in their plants, as well as opening retail outlets. Maruti has delivered 1600 cars since the lockdown was relaxed, while Hyundai sold 608 vehicles last week.
Many dealers networks are open
More than 1500 retail outlets of Hero Moto Corp have opened. 600 dealers of Maruti Suzuki and 150 dealerships of Hyundai have opened. Since the start of the retail business, the company has sold over 10,000 bikes so far. The company has launched Wholesale Dispatch for the first time in FY 2021 and has started operations in Gurugram, Dehradun, Haridwar. However, the cars that were delivered last week were booked before lockdown.
'New booking found'
The company has received new bookings of 550 cars following the announcement of Maruti Suzuki starting production. Bajaj Auto has started the Chakan, Valuj, Pantnagar plant. Bajaj Auto's 1000 crore export orders are on hold in the lockdown. Royal Anfield has started production. German car maker Audi has started selling online in India. This will allow customers to book the car from their home during the lockdown issued for prevention of Covid-19.
Online booking facility
The company said on Monday that it has integrated its own nationwide dealer network with this online platform. Through this, customers can not only book a car sitting at home but can also book a service for their car. The company's head of Indian operations Balbir Singh Dhillon said that the company has always been ahead in introducing the technology of the future to customers. The company currently has a total of 36 sales centers across the country.
Attention to safety of employees
French company Renault has started reopening its select stores and service centers across the country. The company said on Monday that its corporate office has also started functioning again. The government has allowed industries to open conditionally in the third phase of lockdown (bandh). Renault said in a statement that more than 194 dealer showrooms and service centers across its country have resumed operations. All the cleanliness standards and community distance rules are being followed at the store for the safety of customers and employees as per the government guidelines.

The company said that after taking approval from the local bodies, the company will also open its remaining dealer stores and service centers. In this regard, Venkataram Mamillapalle, CEO and managing director of Renault's Indian operations, said Renault is resuming its business in the country in a gradual manner.
