It has been more than 15 days since the new government was formed in Maharashtra under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, but the cabinet has not been formed. Surprisingly, a thug gang tried to cheat the MLAs to make them ministers. The gang had demanded Rs 100 crore from three BJP MLAs to make them ministers.
The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police has arrested four accused in an attempt to cheat the MLAs. Their names are Riyaz Sheikh, Yogesh Kulkarni, Sagar Sangwai, and Zafar Usmani. The four accused have been remanded in the custody of the Crime Branch till July 26. According to the FIR, Rs 100 crore was demanded from the MLA for making him a cabinet minister in Shinde's cabinet.
Thug Riyaz Sheikh had called this and said this
According to the police, the arrested thug Riyaz Sheikh called the secretary of an MLA at 12.12 pm on July 17 that I have come from Delhi, I have a meeting with the MLA today at 4 o'clock, but the MLA is not even picking up the phone. On this, the secretary sent Riyaz's message to the MLA, but the MLA did not reply to it. Riyaz again called the secretary at 4.06 pm and said that I am still waiting for the MLA for the 4 pm meeting. A message was sent to the MLA again through the secretary, but there was no response from the MLA. The meeting of the MLA on the same day at 4.30 pm at a seven-star hotel in South Mumbai was already fixed as the secretary had met the MLA a day earlier i.e. on July 16 at 9 pm at the MLA's residence near Akashvani Bhawan.
The deal was settled for 90 crores, 18 crores were sought in advance
During the meeting with the MLA in a hotel, the secretary told him that Riyaz Sheikh was getting repeated calls from him, then the MLA also told the secretary that he had received a call from Riyaz Sheikh on July 12 and said that he will make you a cabinet minister. , but will take Rs 100 crore. The MLA did not give any importance to Riyaz then, but after meeting the secretary at 4.30 pm on July 17, the MLA called Riyaz through the secretary to meet him at the hotel concerned at 5.15 pm. There was a long meeting between Riyaz and the MLA. Riyaz fixed the deal for Rs 90 crore but asked for Rs 18 crore in advance. After this, the MLA asked Riyaz to stay till the next day and told this his private secretary.
caught like this
After this, Riyaz was called by the MLA to the Nariman Point area at around 1 pm on July 18 and this information was also given to the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch. Riyaz reached the specified place on time, from where the MLA took him to the same hotel where they had their first meeting. After some discussion, the Crime Branch soldiers present there in plain uniform arrested Riyaz Sheikh. After this three other thugs were arrested. Mobiles and SIM cards have been confiscated from the accused. WhatsApp chats and their mobile CDRs are being analyzed.
