Surguja News: Earthquake tremors were felt in Chhattisgarh\'s Surguja division on Thursday afternoon. However, the intensity of the earthquake was low, so no damage was reported. Let us tell you that today at 11:57 minutes, earthquake tremors were felt in the Ambikapur, Udaipur area of ​​Surguja. At the same time, Premnagar, Ramanujanagar, Surajpur, Silphili, Jarhi area of ​​Surajpur district, and Baikunthpur in Koriya district were also affected by the earthquake. This has been confirmed by meteorologist Akshay Mohan Bhatt. It is a matter of relief that there was no loss of life or property in this earthquake.

 

After feeling the tremors of the earthquake in Surajpur district, on the instructions of Collector Iffat Ara, the Education Department, taking precautions, has declared holidays for all primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools.

 

In this regard, District Education Officer Vinod Rai said that earthquake tremors were felt in the district, so schools were closed as a precaution on the instructions of the Collector Madam. Meteorologist Akshay Mohan Bhatt said that the magnitude of the earthquake was 3.0. The epicenter of the earthquake was Surajpur. The impact of the earthquake was within a radius of 50 to 60 kilometers from the center.

 

It is worth noting that recently, two earthquake tremors have occurred in the Korea district. First, a seismic tremor of 4.3 Richter magnitude was felt near the district headquarters Baikunthpur at 8:10 am on July 11.

 

After this, on the intervening night of July 28, an earthquake of greater intensity was felt in the same area at 12:38 pm than on July 11. The intensity of which was measured by the Earthquake Section of the Meteorological Department as 4.6 Richter. The epicenter of the seismic wave was about 16 km below ground level. It was accompanied by a moderate-grade earthquake, capable of causing damage to kutcha houses or weak structures built on the surface.
