Ghaziabad, April 4 (IANS) The Ghaziabad district magistrate Friday sacked three Block Level Officers (BLOs) following a sting operation showing them accepting bribe to add names of fake voters in the electoral list.
District Magistrate S.V.S. Ranga Rao said the services of BLOs -- Hukum Singh, Ravinder Kasana and Harendra Singh -- of Loni area in charge of booth numbers 203, 346 and 371 were terminated after television channel Aaj Tak showed them claiming they would add names of voters in exchange for money.
A first information report (FIR) has also been lodged against them under sections 31 and 32 of the Representation of the People Act.
