BJP wins in Gandhinagar civic polls, Congress wins only two seats, AAP wins only one

In the elections to the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, the BJP has wowed the flag. The Bharatiya Janata Party has won 41 out of the total 44 seats in the corporation, while the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party have won only three seats. Polling was held in Gandhinagar on Sunday and the counting of votes began on Tuesday morning. The BJP had maintained a lead from the very beginning of the counting of votes. These results are a setback for the Congress ahead of next year's assembly elections, which has been making constant claims of giving a tough challenge to the BJP.

Apart from this, the Aam Aadmi Party has also announced to contest elections in Gujarat. In such a situation, winning just one seat in an important municipal corporation like Gandhinagar shows how difficult the road to expansion is for it. Congress got only 2 seats out of three seats. The BJP and the Congress had fielded their candidates in all 44 wards, while the Aam Aadmi Party had fielded candidates in 40 seats. However, last time the Congress gave a tough fight in the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. Then both the BJP and Congress got 16-16 seats. However, Congress councilor Praveen Patel had switched sides and became the mayor with the help of the BJP.

Apart from the Congress, the hopes of the Aam Aadmi Party have also got a setback due to this election result. Let us tell you that in the Surat municipal elections, the Aam Aadmi Party won a total of 27 seats. This time too, all eyes were on the Aam Aadmi Party, but that Surat result could not be repeated in Gandhinagar. Let us tell you that Gandhinagar has been considered a stronghold of the BJP. From LK Advani to Amit Shah now, he has been fighting from this seat. Seeing the results coming in their favor in the morning, BJP workers started celebrating.
