Like Corona, now there is a competition between two big famous companies in the country regarding the monkeypox vaccine. Last time, Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech Company was at the forefront to make anti-coronavirus Covaxin. This time Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII) also wants to make a monkeypox vaccine in collaboration with the government. However, both these companies have not yet submitted their claim. Whereas in a meeting with the Health Minister has claimed.

Both made claims in front of the minister

According to sources, in an online meeting with Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday, both Bharat Biotech and Serum companies have claimed to eradicate monkeypox at the earliest. For this, they will need a live virus with which ICMR will cooperate.

Tika will be made in Ankleshwar

In the meeting, Dr. Krishna Ella, Chairman of Bharat Biotech Company, said that the vaccine will be made in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. So far, the vaccine can be made in only two places in the world, one in Ankleshwar and the other in Bavarian Nordic, Germany.

Royalty on every dose

Just like 5% royalty is being given to ICMR on every dose of Covaxin. Similarly, the pharma company will have to pay royalty on the monkeypox vaccine. What percentage will it be? Will know after the contract. Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Company, said his company has rapidly started the search for a vaccine for monkeypox. For this, scientists from America and Europe are being contacted.
