G20: President Joe Biden leaves for India to attend the G20 summit, and may meet PM Modi today

US President Joe Biden left for India on Thursday (September 8) to attend the historic G20 summit in New Delhi. In a statement, the White House has said that Biden will follow the Corona guidelines during his visit to India for the G20 summit.

 

America's first lady and Biden's wife Jill Biden became Corona positive on Monday. After this, President Joe Biden got the coronavirus test done on Monday and Tuesday, in which his report came back negative. Given this, Jill Biden has been kept separate at home in Delaware and she is not traveling with the President to India and Vietnam.

 

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan is coming along.

US President Biden is arriving in India on Air Force One, accompanied by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Deputy Chief of Staff Jane O'Malley Dillon, and Director of Oval Office Operations Annie Tommasini.

 

These guests will also be with Biden

The President is accompanied by Principal Deputy National Security Advisor John Finer, Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre, Speechwriting Director Vinay Reddy, Communications Director Ben LaBolt, Director Scheduling and Advancement Ryan Montoya, Acting Chief of Protocol Ethan Rosenzweig, NSC Coordinator, etc. According to the White House, Biden will make a refueling stop at Ramstein in Germany on Friday evening and then leave for Delhi.

 

Biden hopes for G-20 success

US President Biden is hoping for a successful G-20 summit and wants to push forward his pet issues like climate change, and reform of international forums like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Please tell that Joe Biden is coming on his first visit to India as President.

 

Biden and Prime Minister Modi are expected to have a bilateral meeting after reaching Delhi on Friday evening. During the meeting, the two leaders are likely to review the progress made on decisions taken during Prime Minister Modi's official visit to Washington in June.
