Nepal Police Lathi Charge On Returning Citizens

Maharajganj, JNN. On Monday night, the situation became tense on the Indo-Nepal Sonouli border. Hundreds of people of Nepalese origin stuttered on the Indo-Nepal border to go to their homeland. After this, the Nepali Prahari Dal (Nepali Police) lathi-charged. Due to the strictness of Nepali police, no citizen could get entry into Nepal.

Outraged by the lathi charge, people sat on a dharna at No Mens Land, located in the middle of the Indo-Nepal border. They say that their strike will continue till the Government of Nepal gives them entry into their country.

 

India-Nepal border is sealed

 

The Indo-Nepal border is sealed over the corona virus. The Government of Nepal has also banned the citizens of our country coming from India. Around 300 people who reached the Nomens Land from the Sonouli border on Monday night started a ruckus to enter Nepal. Due to which a large number of police from both countries reached the spot on the Sonauli border. During this time, the Nepali Sentinel team fiercely lathi-charged the citizens of their own country. People stuck on the border say that when the Indian government has taken us to the Nepal border, then why is our government not giving admission. People angry with lathicharge have blocked No Men's Land. They raised fierce slogans against the Nepal Police.

 

Police is waiting for the government's order

 

Belahia Inspector Ishwari Adhikari of Nepal Police told that Nepal citizens from different cities of India will not be allowed to enter unless a government order comes. In view of the tension on the border, SDM Nautanwa Jasdhir Singh and CO Raju Kumar Saw said that adequate police force has been deployed along the border, talks are being held with Nepalese authorities to solve the problem.

DM and SP arrived late at night, could not solve

 

The deadlock over entry into Nepal since Monday continued for the second day on Tuesday. Three hundred people have occupied the Nomens Land on the Indo-Nepal border. They say that till the Nepal government does not give them entry into their country, their protest will continue on Nomens Land. On receiving information about lathicharge and border tension on the citizens, late night, Dr. Ujjwal Kumar, DM of Maharajganj and SP Rohit Singh Sajwan also reached the spot. Both officials urged Nepali citizens to move to India. Officials said that when they do not get entry into Nepal, arrangements for their lodging will be made by India, but Nepali citizens were not ready on this assurance. The Indo-Nepal border is sealed over the corona virus. The Government of Nepal has also banned the citizens of our country coming from India. People stuck on the border say that when the Indian government has taken us to the Nepal border, then why is our government not giving admission. DM Dr. Ujjwal Kumar says that an attempt is being made to end the deadlock at the border after talking to the Nepal authorities.
