Former Punjab CM and Lok Congress Party chief Captain Amarinder Singh has filed his nomination papers for the Patiala Assembly seat. The Captain's party is contesting the elections in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party. On this occasion, Punjab BJP in-charge Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was also present with him.

Captain Amarinder, who came to file his nomination, said that the alliance of Punjab Lok Congress with Bharatiya Janata Party is necessary for the development of Punjab. He said that while the tenure of the present central government is still for two years, the BJP government will be formed at the center for the next five years as well. In this way, the alliance of Punjab Lok Congress with BJP is necessary to bring Punjab on the path of development in these 7 years.

The Captain said that Punjab cannot be taken forward on the path of development without the help of the BJP Central Government, as the financial condition of Punjab is already very bad. On the question of Congress projecting Charanjit Singh Channi as the chief minister's face, the Captain said that it is a Congress issue. It has nothing to do with them.

On the question of Channi filing nominations from two different assembly seats, Captain Amarinder said that in the last assembly elections he too had contested from two assembly seats Patiala Urban and Lambi, and lost in Lambi. He said that the party had sent him only to suppress Parkash Singh Badal in Lambi. Now why Charanjit Singh Channi is being contested on 2 seats, he cannot tell anything about it.

On the question of the government of Aam Aadmi Party's convenor Arvind Kejriwal starting various social welfare facilities in Delhi, Captain Amarinder said that Arvind Kejriwal has completely failed in Delhi itself in implementing the Delhi model. He said that it is easy to declare various facilities to the public free of cost and very difficult to implement them. On the issue of making election manifestos being issued by various parties a legal document, Captain Amarinder said that he supports it.
