After this, KKR's match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been postponed today. The match was going to be held at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Cricket website ESPN Cricinfo has informed about the postponement of the match.

Sources told Bhaskar that players were infected due to a flaw in the travel policy and bio-bubble in the Mumbai hotel. Meanwhile, a BCCI official told news agency ANI that Varun Chakraborty and Sandeep Warriors of KKR were infected. According to IPL rules, both these players were also placed in the bio-bubble. The Bangalore camp was also worried by the news of the transition and did not seem too keen on playing the match.

How players get infected in bio-bubble?

According to sources, KKR camped their players in Mumbai in the last week of March before the IPL started. A bio-bubble was prepared in a hotel here. The team then reached Chennai in the second week of April. Now bio-bubble is prepared in Chennai. Kolkata played three matches here. On April 18, the team returned to Mumbai after playing the last match in Chennai.

Since the bio-bubble was abolished in Mumbai. In such a situation, carelessness was taken in preparing bio-bubble again. Employees kept in his care during the hotel where KKR stayed in Mumbai were found to be corona infected.

Kolkata had to make two trips within a week. The team played the first match in Mumbai on April 21 with Chennai Super Kings and the second match on April 24 with Rajasthan Royals. After this, the team left for Ahmedabad. According to sources, the players may have been infected during this time.

Many players were infected before the tournament.

Even before the start of IPL-2021, many players were hit by Corona. Nitish Rana of Kolkata Knight Riders, Devdutt Padikkal of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Akshar Patel of Delhi Capitals, Enrich Norkhia and Daniel Samms have also been infected. IPL is being done in 6 places in the country including Delhi. In such a situation, there is a risk of players getting infected while moving from one place to another.
