Serbia's legendary tennis player Novak Djokovic has made his place in the final of the Wimbledon Open. Djokovic defeated Italy's Yannick Sinner in the first semi-final of men's singles played on Friday (July 14). Defending champion Djokovic reached the final of this tournament for the ninth time. He defeated eighth seed Sinner in a three-set match. Djokovic won the match 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4). On the other hand, world number one Carlos Alcaraz of Spain defeated Daniil Medvedev of Russia to enter the final. Alcaraz defeated Medvedev 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.

By defeating Sinner, Djokovic has confirmed his place in the final of the Grand Slam for the 35th time. He entered the match with a fully aggressive attitude. Djokovic displayed strong tennis. He argued with the umpire and also taunted the spectators. Most of the spectators present in the center court of Wimbledon appeared to support Sinner. Djokovic teased those spectators in his way. He is now one step away from winning Wimbledon for a record eighth time.

Djokovic can match Federer

The 36-year-old Djokovic will enter his fifth consecutive Wimbledon final on Sunday. There he will face world number one, Carlos Alcaraz. If Djokovic becomes champion on Sunday, he will equal Roger Federer's eight Wimbledon titles. Djokovic has a chance to become champion for the fifth time in a row.

Djokovic will try to match Margaret Court

Djokovic has won 23 Grand Slams so far. He is the second player to win the most Grand Slams. Australia's Margaret Court is in the first place in this matter. Margaret won 24 Grand Slams. Djokovic has won the Australian Open and the French Open this season. Coming to Yannick Sinner, he came close to defeating Djokovic in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon last year, but the Serbian veteran fought back from two sets down to beat Sinner. This time Sinner could not impress much. He did hit some good shots in between, but Djokovic beat him easily.
