In the Hamid Ansari case related to inviting Pakistani journalist Nusrat Mirza to India, now All India Bar Asso. Its president Adish Aggarwal has hit back at Congress. Describing Agarwal as a 'Modi Bhakt', the Congress claimed that he had also invited Mirza to a conference. In response, Aggarwal said that Ansari wanted Mirza to be called, but if he was not called, the then Vice President felt bad about it.

Lawyer Adish Aggarwal is also the co-author of PM Narendra Modi's autobiography. He issued a statement saying that the Congress is claiming that Pakistani journalist Nusrat Mirza had participated in a conference organized by them. The BJP on Friday supported Dr. Agarwal's fresh claim against former President Hamid Ansari. In a statement issued on Thursday, Agarwal claimed that Ansari and the Congress referred to the International Conference of Jurists on International Terrorism and Human Rights, but did not talk about another conference, while these were two separate conferences about which Ansari and Congress are talking.

Aggarwal said that Congress leaders are alleging that Mirza had participated in the conference organized by me. this is wrong. Congress is trying to take advantage only on the ground that he is the co-author of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's autobiography. Congress leaders are making irresponsible statements about me.

Agarwal made this disclosure

Agarwal said in his statement that he wants to clarify the facts based on records. That the International Conference of Jurists on International Terrorism and Human Rights was held at Vigyan Bhavan on 11th and 12th December 2010. The then Vice President Hamid Ansari had attended the conference, but Nusrat Mirza was neither an invitee nor did he attend. Even Nusrat Mirza has not mentioned this conference in her interview. Hamid Ansari was invited to this conference as he was the Vice President of India. Ashok Diwan, who was then director in the Vice President's Secretariat, had informed that Ansari wanted Nusrat Mirza to be invited to the conference.

Ansari had returned in 20 minutes

Aggarwal claimed that since Mirza was from the media, and that judges and lawyers from Pakistan were also not invited to the conference, Ansari's request was rejected. He said that Diwan called him a day before the conference that the Vice President was upset over not calling Mirza and that he would now attend the conference for only 20 minutes as against an hour's stay earlier. Later when he came to the conference, he returned in just 20 minutes, as told by Dewan.

Ansari has blamed Congress: BJP

In this case, the BJP supported Agarwal's statement. Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said on Friday that in response to questions from the Congress party and Hamid Ansari asked by the BJP, Ansari Ji has put all the blame on the Congress government. Ansari says that those who are called in the Vice President's program are called on the advice of the government, but the responsibility of the person sitting on constitutional posts is also big. Our country is India above any person and it is the interest of the citizens of India.

This is the claim of Nusrat Mirza

Let us tell you, Pakistani journalist Nusrat Mirza has claimed that she was invited to India several times by Hamid Ansari. On his return from here, he had given secret information about India to the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Ansari has termed these allegations as plain lies. Ansari said that he never invited anyone. Invitations to foreign dignitaries by the Vice President are usually made through the Ministry of External Affairs and in consultation with the Government.
